Organs SOS: a plea from the shadows

This documentary film captures the intimate circumstances and consequences of those most burdened by the global trade in human organs- the victims of organ trafficking. Addressing the global stage with focus on the case of Egypt, this film examines how the lack of regulations, oversight and enforcement have enabled the systematic and orchestrated targeting of the poor and vulnerable as a primary source of organ supplies for transplant.

Religious figures, medical professionals, organ-failure patients and recipients, and marginalized populations such as Darfurian and other Sudanese asylum seekers also share their perspectives. Alternative solutions of altruistic and deceased organ donation are demonstrated and pave a path for shifting the burden away from exploiting commercial living donors.
